Two people, one cat, and a whole lot of miles.

We’re Danielle and Zickey—a pair of long-distance lovebirds who finally got to share a zip code… just in time to pack everything up and move again.

We met on Instagram in a global writing group (proof that hashtags can change your life). For six years, we built a life together while living apart—thousands of messages, video calls, digital dates, and two years of marriage spent on opposite sides of the world. When Zickey finally joined Danielle in the U.S. in 2024, we began our first real year together.

Now, after just over a year of in-person married life, we’re ready for a new chapter: a cross-country move from Connecticut to Arizona—driven by love, family, sunshine, and slightly ridiculous ambition.

This is our story, told from both sides of the car.

Hi, I’m Zickey. I’m originally from India, where I trained and worked as a Physical Therapist. Moving to the U.S. meant leaving behind a career I loved and starting over. I’m currently exploring creative paths—digital art, photography, storytelling—while navigating life in a brand-new country.

I’m detail-oriented and quiet, but passionate and loyal. I care deeply about honesty, values, and doing the right thing. You’ll find me on TikTok documenting the move from my perspective, usually with a camera in one hand and a snack in the other.

I’m Danielle—a writer, communicator, fantasy nerd, musician, and nature-obsessed creative. I’ve worked in communications for over 20 years, write across genres, and believe tacos are a food group.

I’m the more talkative half of this duo (and the one with obsessive packing spreadsheets). I love everything magical—forests, folklore, national parks, cozy music, and writing that cracks you open. I run our Instagram and blog and do everything in my power to keep the cat happy.

🐾 Teddy, the Cat
Teddy is our third traveler. He turned 8 (or maybe 9?) this April and has the personality of a king… who forgets he’s not in charge. Teddy will be riding cross-country with us in a tricked-out setup complete with calming treats, a travel litter box, and his own pop-up tent.

He will wake us up at 3 a.m.
He will have something to say about the food.
